Last week I visited the Magnum Pleasure Store for its grand opening and it was such a delicious evening. I was so disappointed to miss the pop up in Selfridges last year so I was very excited to hear they were opening a summer store just off Oxford St!
It’s hard to miss the amazing photos of personalised Magnums if you follow enough people on Instagram. The unmistakable sight of Magnums piled high with toppings and drizzled with chocolate is all over social media. I’ve had to actively avoid licking my screen more than once. And now that Magnum has their double dipped peanut butter variety, there’s never been a better time to design your own!
Once you get to the store, you choose three toppings which get popped into a cocktail shaker. There’s everything from gold flakes to almonds to black lava sea salt to freeze dried blueberries… all sorts! Once you’ve chosen your toppings, you get to choose your dips. I went for dark chocolate, peanut butter, then more dark chocolate. It’s mesmerising to watch – they unwrap a naked vanilla Magnum and watch as it’s slowly enrobed in layers of deliciousness. Once each layer has set, your Magnum sits in a little box while all the toppings are piled on, followed by a drizzle of chocolate, followed by a tiny chocolate M.
It’s £4.50 each, so it’s totally worth it for the experience and the novelty. And you could *sort of* recreate it at home if you wanted. The Magnum Pleasure Store is open till the end of September so get yourself down if you fancy it! You can find it at 56 South Molton Street, London, W1K 5SH.
Disclaimer – Magnum invited me to the opening and gave my husband and I a Magnum each. These are my honest views.
